ABOUT US
Peaks Motors was originally built in 1949. At that time they carried Chrysler Plymouth, GMC. GMC was dropped in 1963 and the dealership went strictly to the Chrysler franchises. The dealership was reconstituted in 1982. We were originally a Chrysler Plymouth Dodge dealer. In 1993 we obtained Jeep-Eagle. We sold the franchise in 1995 and became an independent dealer. We moved to Main Street in 1995 and have been in this location for over 10 years.

Joe Tate
Owner
Joe came to Peaks Motors in 1985 when it was still a new car dealership. He began working in accounting and Finance and Insurance and as the company grew, he became Sales Manager. Joe has worked as General Manager for Peaks Motors and Patrick Henry Chrysler Plymouth Dodge Buick since he took over in 1998.
In 2002 Joe was selected as the Roanoke District Quality Dealer for Virginia Independent Automobile Dealers Association (VIADA). Since then he has served as President of the Roanoke District for 2003 and 2004. Recently he was elected Treasurer on the Statewide level of VIADA for 2004-2005 and is now serving his 3rd consecutive term in that position. VIADA is an association of car dealers that has banded together in order to provide fair business practices for you, the consumer, as well as to better the overall public image of the car dealer.
Joe is a member of the Dale Ridge Church of Christ where he teaches classes, leads singing and preaches on rare occasions. He has served He has served as President of the Band Boosters for the High School his son attends. In addition, he Joe also sponsors the "Walk for a Cure" event that is held annually in Bedford, VA. His role in the community is something he holds in high regard.

Mike Saunders
Sales Representative
Mike began working for his dad pumping gas in 1960. When he turned 18 he began turning a wrench as a mechanic. He later served as mechanic for Hughes Motor Company and later took over as Service Manager for Peaks Motors. Mike has worked on both service and sales for the company since 1996.
Mike has also worked as an insurance agent. He is extremely knowledgeable about vehicles and is always willing to help the customer whenever he can. Mike has an active roll as Choir Director at the Calvary Baptist Church. Come in today and let Mike go to work for you!

Benjamin 'Benny' Meadows
Sales Representative
Benny has worked on, in and around automobiles for six decades! Just a few of his previous titles include being a tow operator, parts manager, service manager, and sales manager. He has been with Peaks Motors since 1962. Benny retired when he reached 62 but was back before he turned 63! Today you will find Benny greeting the customers as they get out of the car. When you meet him you will think, "I just met the friendliest car salesmen ever!" Stop in today and see for yourself.

Joe 'Little Joe' McArdle
Mechanic
Joe has a vast amount of experience in automotive parts and service for many years. He came to Peaks Motors in 2002 and has attended regular training classes as well as received tutoring. As a result of his efforts he recently became Certified in air conditioning. Joe loves to talk so therefore it is not uncommon to find him talking to a customer and filling the roll as salesperson. for that reason Joe is a Certified mechanic that has a salesperson's license!

Jan Bortherton
Clerk
Jan came to work at Peaks Motors in the summer of 2004. She has extensive Secretarial and Clerical experience (meaning she is used to running whatever company she worked for!). Her duties here are to basically keep us as well as the customers in the 'Straight and Narrow'. She follows up on insurance notices, handles payments, and does the collections. She helps out by keeping payments and insurance
coverage's up to date and often answers the phone.
